Extra Clinical Conference: Sustainable future care for older people in general practice
Extra Clinical Conference on Friday!
Society is rapidly ageing all over the world. On estimate in 2050 more than 25% of the population will be 60 years or older. Given the declining health at older age, this demographic shift will have major impact on healthcare demand. In the context of changing society and declining workforce this poses lager pressure on future healthcare delivery.
A paradigm shift is needed , with a better focus on the expectations of older people, and a more efficient organization of care and cure.
In this lecture we will picture the societal changes, the perspective of the elderly and the role of primary care in future care for older people.
