Sensible Care
Sensible care equates judicious use of interventions in health care leading to an improvement in quality of life and/or an increased life expectancy. Sensible care is affordable in its specific societal context.
Sensible care is the refrainment from or termination of low-value interventions.
Sensible care is the implementation of high-value interventions.
The two-day meeting will cover the following topics:
1. Evidence belying medical interventions: from medical reversals to parachutes.
2. Causes and consequences of low-value care: Oncology as an example
3. Causes and consequences of low-value care: COVID-19 as an example
4. Sensible care not delivered: what, how, and why with a focus on palliative care, elderly, mental health, and primary health care.
5. The way forward: data, education, organization, implementation and evaluation.
