DESCRIPTION:  \n \n \nDEMENTIA: UNDERSTANDING\, PREVENTING &amp\; CARING\nJ
oin us for a two-day conference dedicated to one of the most pressing heal
th and care challenges of our time.\nThe growing number of people living w
ith dementia is a cause for increasing concern worldwide\, including in Cu
raçao and across the Caribbean. Dementia affects not only the person diagn
osed but also has a profound impact on families\, caregivers\, healthcare
professionals\, and society as a whole.\nAt the same time\, advances in re
search and clinical practice are providing new insights into the different
types and causes of dementia\, as well as risk reduction and prevention\,
treatment\, and care. \nThis conference brings together medical professio
 nals\, healthcare workers\, caregivers\, policymakers\, and other stakehol
ders to share knowledge and explore how we can better respond to the chall
enges of dementia in our Caribbean community.\nWhat can we do to reduce th
e risk of dementia? How can dementia and its symptoms be treated and manag
ed? And how can we better support families and caregivers facing the incre
asing demands of caring for a loved one with dementia?\nThese and other im
portant questions will be addressed during this two-day conference. \nBe p
art of this important exchange of knowledge and experiences as we work tog

DESCRIPTION: \n \nCaribbean Acute Stroke Summit \nWe are pleased to announc
e the Caribbean Acute Stroke Summit\, held in beautiful Curacao on April 1
7th and 18th 2027. This two-day event brings together regional and interna
tional speakers\, highlighting current key developments in acute stroke ca
re and the unique challenges and opportunities in resource-limited regions
such as the Caribbean.\nIschemic stroke is a severely debilitating condit
ion for which acute treatment options have significantly advanced over the
past decades. For years now\, intravenous thrombolysis and endovascular t
hrombectomy have become standard of care. Treatment is possible up to 24 h
ours after the onset of symptoms\, although earlier treatment still leads
to better (functional) outcomes.\nWhile these treatments and the necessary
diagnostic tools are available in many countries\, access remains limited
in many regions\, including most of the Caribbean. Implementing what is n
ow considered basic acute stroke care presents significant challenges on t
he Caribbean islands\, due to financial\, geographical\, and socioeconomic
factors. This necessitates difficult trade-offs in acute stroke care in t
he Caribbean region\, with the ultimate goal of providing high-quality\, a
ccessible care for everyone.\nThe conference is aimed at both professional
s within stroke care in the Caribbean and those in other regions of the wo
rld.\nIn the coming months\, we will present the official conference locat
ion on Curacao\, the full conference program\, and our complete list of sp
eakers. Sign up for the mailing list to receive updates when the official
registration page opens.\nMailing list Caribbean Acute Stroke Summit - For
mulier invullenThis mailing list will only be used to send sporadic update
s regarding the conference\, such as program announcements and the opening
of official registration.\nWe look forward to welcoming you to Curacao!\n
