16th NETHERLANDS HEART DAYS 2023

For over 15 years the Netherlands Heart Days (NHD) has been the premier annual gathering for Dutch cardiovascular imagers. Since our first meeting in 2006, the NHD has proven its value as evidenced by both strong participation from Europe as well as from the entire Caribbean area, and North and South America.

After two years of online meetings due to the pandemic, we are very pleased to present the program for the 16th NHD from January 12 – 14, 2023 in Curaçao.

This year's meeting is organized by the NHD, together with the section Cardiovascular Radiology of the Radiological Society of The Netherlands, in close cooperation with the NASKHO (Netherlands –Caribbean Foundation for Clinical Higher Education).

As always, the annual meeting will feature top-notch scientific content that discusses the state-of-the-art of various cardiac imaging hot topics. Topical sessions will cover a discussion of the technical aspects and imaging protocols as well as the clinical implications of the findings. Most sessions will feature examples of actual clinical cases and how novel techniques, methods, and interventions can be used to better diagnose and treat patients with a variety of diseases affecting the heart.

After the success of the hands-on cardiac CT course offered at the last pre-pandemic meeting, we are pleased to announce that we will offer a full level 1 Fundamental of Cardiac MR course endorsed by the Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR). The course consists of multiple sessions from the main program supplemented with additional sessions on Thursday and Friday prior to and after the main scientific program. Experts guide participants through the fundamentals of cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR), reflecting on the added value of using CMR in clinical practice. There will be an emphasis on the clinical applications of CMR, with the review of the appropriate use criteria and patients who might benefit most from the unique technology. A total of fifty clinical cases will be reviewed throughout the course to emphasize key concepts. In addition to Level I certification, participants will be eligible to claim CME credits for the time spent in the course.

The content on offer for the Netherlands Heart Days 2023 will be appealing to experts in cardiac imaging as well as those seeking to enter the field. The congenial and collaborative atmosphere of the congress also offers excellent opportunities for networking and jumpstarting collaborative research projects and multicenter collaborations.

Early fee registration is open until November 15, 2022
