DESCRIPTION:         \nThis year\, the 10th Post Graduate Course Rehabilita
 tion Medicine will take place from February 2\, 2024 to February 4\, 2024.
  This conference will be organized by the Curaçao Rehabilitation Center Fo
 undation (SRC)\, University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) in close colla
 boration with the Dutch-Caribbean Foundation for Clinical Higher Education
  (NASKHO).\nVarious themes will be discussed during the conference. The fo
 cus is mainly based on topics relating to syndromes that are often seen at
  the rehabilitation center as well as in the primary care setting in Curaç
 ao. Patients with a stroke as well as patients with a lower extremity ampu
 tation due to vascular disorders\, form the two largest diagnostic groups 
 that are seen and treated and for that reason\, it has once again been dec
 ided to pay attention to this. New insights into the rehabilitation of str
 oke as well as the epidemiology of stroke in Curaçao and various topics re
 garding rehabilitation after a lower extremity amputation will be discusse
 d.\nDuring this conference\, the various pain syndromes will also be prese
 nted in detail. Aspects of various neurological disorders such as disorder
 s of the spinal cord (spinal cord injury and cervical canal stenosis) and 
 Guillain Barré will also be considered. Also\, the possibility of driving 
 after a brain injury will be one of our topics.\nVarious aspects of spasti
 city and joint disorders will also be examined. Joint complaints such as o
 steoarthritis of the hand\, hip\, and knee are a common problem seen in pr
 imary care. We will amply talk about the diagnosis and treatment of osteoa
 rthritis. The different options for treating spasticity which is a common 
 phenomenon due to various neurological disorders with negative consequence
 s for the patient will be explained.\nFinally\, an extensive overview will
  be given of the medical conditions that are or are not covered in the reh
 abilitation setting.\nBoth local and Dutch speakers have promised their co
 operation at this conference. The conference is intended for specialists\,
  general practitioners\, medical students and residents\, para/perimedical
  therapists\, and other healthcare providers who are closely involved in t
 he treatment of the above-mentioned conditions.
